My dad was an artist and as a child I remember there always being creative tools and resources which I think drove my interest in making. I studied Three Dimensional Design before doing an MA in Glass where I was free to explore hand-making with a variety of materials. Through my personal journey trying to maintain balance of body and mind (in this chaotic world), I began making time for self-care rituals such as meditation. I encountered Malas, tactile tools used for thousands of years in Buddhism and Hinduism to focus the mind during meditation. This has evolved into a natural jewellery practice where thought & care is given to unique pieces through the choice of materials and untreated stones are chosen for their particular properties. Working in a traditional way with beautiful natural materials is quite meditative and I hope the wearer feels comfortable and connected with their chosen piece.
