Orla Stevensis a Scottish artist working between the mediums of painting and textiles. Trained in printed textiles and embroidery at Edinburgh College of Art, Orla discovered her love for expressive mark making - beginning her conversational exploration between painting and printing processes. Orla creates interior textiles and artwork using dyed, painted and printed fabrics - blending function and concept together through traditional hand crafted processes. 

Orla’s work is influenced by a culmination of the things she loves most: outdoors, stories, people, music and instinctive making processes. Inspired by Scottish Landscape and the traditional narratives tied to these rural locations, Orla uses textiles and painting as a means to explore the heritage and landscape of her home environment.
